REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: Master’s degree in health economics or health policy.
Desirable: Doctorate degree in Health Economics.
Experience
Essential: At least 7 years, with proven international exposure, in the area of economic analysis of health financing policy and formulation.
Desirable: Experience in health system strengthening in developing countries
Skills
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in conceptual approaches to health financing and health systems policies with ability to ensure that action plans meet country needs, priorities and policies, along with WHO’s policies, practices, guidelines and procedures in the related areas and ability to apply them in the country office setting.
- Ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to review and revise policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Excellent knowledge of political, social and health systems in the countries.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Commitment to implementing the goal of gender equality by ensuring the equal participation and full involvement of women and men in all aspects of work.
